About
The Nazgul DC5 ECO O4 is a lightweight 5-inch DeadCat FPV drone designed for pilots who want a clean HD view, DJI O4 image quality, and a more affordable alternative to premium Evoque models.
Its DeadCat geometry helps keep propellers out of the camera view, making it especially practical for cinematic freestyle, smooth cruising, action-camera footage, and general HD FPV flying. The frame combines carbon fiber with an aluminum camera mount, while the integrated Anti-Spark Filter, built-in buzzer, receiver mounting area, and DJI O4 Air Unit Pro make it a clean and practical BNF platform.
Compared with the Nazgul Evoque F5 V3 O4, the DC5 ECO is the lighter and more affordable DeadCat option. The F5 V3 remains the premium model with Evoque side panels, switchable DeadCat / True X configuration, and higher-end frame design.
Highlights
Lightweight and Durable
The Nazgul DC5 ECO combines a carbon fiber frame with an aluminum camera mount, creating a lightweight yet robust platform for HD FPV flying. Its DeadCat geometry helps reduce propellers in view, making it well suited for clean DJI O4 footage, cinematic flying, and action-camera use.
Anti-Spark Filter
Connecting a high-voltage LiPo battery can create a visible spark at the XT60 connector, caused by the initial current rush into the ESC and capacitor system. The integrated Anti-Spark Filter helps reduce plug-in spark, protects the connector from unnecessary wear, and helps reduce sudden voltage and current spikes during battery connection.
DJI O4 Air Unit Pro Low-Latency Digital Transmission
The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro provides a clear, low-latency digital FPV feed with up to 1080p/100fps live view, depending on goggles, region, environment, and local regulations. It is designed for a crisp real-time image in the goggles, even in challenging RF conditions.
The O4 Air Unit Pro also supports onboard recording up to 4K/120fps, giving pilots high-quality footage directly from the air unit without requiring an additional HD camera for every flight.
4K Stabilized Video with 155° Ultra-Wide Angle
With its 1/1.3-inch image sensor, 155° ultra-wide field of view, and support for RockSteady stabilization or gyro data for Gyroflow, the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro delivers high-quality onboard footage for freestyle, cinematic, and cruising flights.
ND Filter Support
Compatible ND filters can be used to better control exposure, shutter speed, and motion blur in bright conditions. Please use ND filters designed for the iFlight O4 Air Unit Pro setup, as DJI original O4 Pro filters may not fit this drone design correctly.
Practical Maintenance Features
The DC5 ECO is equipped with a built-in buzzer and a dedicated receiver mounting area, making setup, maintenance, and receiver access easier and cleaner.
Flexible Build Layout
The frame provides standard 20×20mm and 30.5×30.5mm mounting options, offering flexibility for maintenance, repairs, and future customization. This makes the platform easier to service and compatible with many common FPV electronics layouts.
Pre-Installed BLITZ Mini M10 GPS V2
GPS can support positioning, telemetry, and Betaflight GPS Rescue when correctly configured and tested by the pilot. GPS Rescue is not enabled by default and should not be treated as a replacement for safe piloting, a strong radio link, and proper failsafe setup.
BNF Factory Setup
This drone is delivered as a BNF, which means Bind-and-Fly.
It comes assembled and factory configured with a Betaflight preset already installed. No firmware update, reset, or Betaflight changes are required before the first flight.
The drone still needs to be bound to a compatible radio controller before flying. Angle Mode is enabled by default to make first flights safer and reduce the risk of accidents during initial setup.
ReadyFly Kits – Complete FPV Sets Available
This product is sold as a BNF drone.
BNF means Bind-and-Fly: the drone is assembled, tuned, and equipped with the selected receiver/video system, but it must still be bound to a compatible radio controller before flying.
If you need a complete FPV setup, we also offer ReadyFly kits in our shop. Our ReadyFly kits allow you to mix and match compatible components such as goggles, radio controller, batteries, charger, and accessories.
Choose this BNF drone if you already have compatible equipment.
Choose a ReadyFly kit if you want a more complete FPV setup with the main components selected together.
Required to Fly
This is a BNF drone, not a complete ReadyFly kit.
You still need:
- Compatible FPV goggles
- Compatible radio controller matching the selected receiver version
- Suitable 6S battery
- 6S-compatible LiPo/Li-Ion balance charger
- microSD card for onboard recording, if required
Not included with the BNF drone:
- Battery
- Charger
- Goggles
- Radio controller
- microSD card
- Action camera
- Choose the Correct Receiver Version
Please choose the receiver version that matches your radio controller.
Available receiver versions:
- DJI FPV Remote Controller 2/3
- TBS Crossfire Nano RX
- iFlight ELRS 2.4GHz RX
- iFlight ELRS 868/915MHz RX
The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro handles the video link. The selected receiver/control version determines how the drone receives radio-control input.
DJI Controller Version
Choose the DJI version if you want to control the drone with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 or DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.
This version is configured for DJI SBUS control. Additional SBUS and GND wires are connected to the flight controller for DJI remote-control input.
Important: The DJI Controller version is intended for DJI remote control use. To use ELRS or TBS Crossfire instead, a separate receiver must be installed and correctly configured. This may require disconnecting the DJI SBUS wiring or using another UART for receiver input.
ELRS 2.4GHz Version
Choose this version if you use an ELRS 2.4GHz radio, such as an iFlight Commando 8 or Commando 14 ELRS 2.4GHz.
ELRS 868/915MHz Version
Choose this version only if your radio or module supports ELRS 868/915MHz.
ELRS 2.4GHz and ELRS 868/915MHz are not compatible with each other.
TBS Crossfire Version
Choose this version if you use a TBS Crossfire radio or module.
If you are unsure which version fits your radio, contact us before ordering.
Battery Recommendations
This drone is designed for 6S batteries.
Most pilots use batteries between 1380mAh and 2400mAh.
Freestyle / responsive flying:
- 6S 1380–1550mAh high-discharge LiPo
- Cinematic / GoPro flying:
- 6S 1550–1850mAh high-discharge LiPo
Longer cruising:

Important Li-Ion note:
Li-Ion batteries are only recommended for smooth cruising and endurance-focused flying. They are not suitable for aggressive freestyle, racing, repeated punch-outs, or high-current flying.
Li-Ion batteries behave differently from LiPo batteries and may require adjusted Betaflight voltage warnings.
Action Camera Support
The DC5 ECO frame can be used with compatible action-camera TPU mounts.
A GoPro-style action camera can be mounted for cinematic footage, but the final flight feel and flight time depend heavily on battery size, camera weight, propeller choice, and flying style.
