About

Description

The Chimera7 Pro V2 6S O4 HD is a 7.5-inch long-range FPV drone designed for pilots who want efficient cruising, long-distance cinematic flights, high-capacity battery support, and DJI O4 Air Unit Pro video quality.

With its stiff DeadCat frame, XING2 2809 1250KV motors, BLITZ F722 Flight Controller, BLITZ E55 55A 4-IN-1 ESC, DJI O4 Air Unit Pro, pre-installed GPS, and dual antenna setup, the Chimera7 Pro V2 is built for smooth long-range flying, mountain cruising, and cinematic HD footage.

This drone is not intended as a beginner freestyle quad. It is a large long-range FPV aircraft that requires suitable equipment, careful setup, responsible operation, and experience with GPS, battery management, failsafe behavior, and local flight regulations.

Highlights

7.5-Inch Long-Range Platform
The Chimera7 Pro V2 is designed as an efficient 7.5-inch long-range FPV platform for smooth cruising, cinematic flying, and high-capacity battery setups.

Its larger propeller size, long-range frame layout, and XING2 2809 motors allow the drone to carry larger batteries compared with typical 5-inch freestyle drones, making it better suited for endurance-oriented flying.

DeadCat Frame Geometry
The DeadCat frame layout helps reduce propellers in the camera view, making the Chimera7 Pro V2 suitable for smoother cinematic footage and clean DJI O4 onboard recording.

This geometry is designed for long-range cruising and cinematic flight lines rather than racing or compact freestyle-style flying.

Smooth and Powerful XING2 2809 Motors
The XING2 2809 1250KV motors are designed for 7-inch and 7.5-inch long-range applications, offering strong control over larger propellers and efficient 6S performance.

The XING2 motor design uses a durable unibell construction, titanium alloy shaft, reinforced bell joint, 7075 aluminum bell, Japanese NSK bearings, N52H curved arc magnets, and XING O-ring bushing gap protection.

Chimera7 Pro V2 Frame Protection
The Chimera7 Pro V2 frame is designed to better protect the internal electronics from dirt, grass, and debris compared with open-frame layouts.

Side panels and 360-degree TPU protection help keep the build cleaner, while the frame layout supports airflow around the electronics for cooling during longer flights.

DJI O4 Air Unit Pro – HD Recording and Digital FPV
The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro provides high-quality digital FPV video and onboard recording for long-range cinematic flying.

With its 1/1.3-inch image sensor, 155° ultra-wide field of view, D-Log M support, RockSteady 3.0+ stabilization, 1080p/100fps live view, and high-bitrate onboard recording, the O4 Air Unit Pro is well suited for detailed FPV footage in demanding environments.

Secured Battery Plug with Anti-Spark Filter
Connecting a high-capacity 6S battery can create a visible spark at the XT60 connector. This is caused by the initial current rush into the ESC and capacitor system.

The integrated Anti-Spark Filter helps reduce plug-in spark, protects the XT60 connector from unnecessary wear, and helps reduce sudden voltage and current spikes when connecting the battery.

GPS Pre-Installed for Long-Range Support
The Chimera7 Pro V2 is equipped with pre-installed GPS.

GPS can support coordinates, telemetry, flight logging, and Betaflight GPS Rescue after correct configuration and testing by the pilot.

Important: GPS Rescue is not enabled by default and must not be treated as a guaranteed return-to-home function. It must be configured, checked, and tested carefully before use.

Long-Range Antenna Setup
The dual DJI O4 antenna layout and long-range receiver antenna setup are designed to support stable video and control performance during long-distance flights.

Actual range depends on goggles, region, antenna orientation, receiver version, environment, interference, terrain, battery setup, and local regulations.

BNF Factory Setup

This drone is delivered as a BNF, which means Bind-and-Fly.

It is assembled, factory configured, and tested before shipment. However, BNF does not mean Ready-to-Fly. The drone still needs to be bound to a compatible radio controller before the first flight.

Before the first flight, check all screws, motor direction, propeller orientation, failsafe behavior, GPS status, video link, OSD, Betaflight modes, and voltage warning settings.

ReadyFly Kits – Complete FPV Sets Available

This product is sold as a BNF drone.

BNF means Bind-and-Fly: the drone is assembled, tuned, and equipped with the selected receiver and DJI O4 video system, but it still needs to be bound to a compatible radio controller before flight.

If you need a complete FPV setup, we also offer ReadyFly Kits or compatible accessory bundles in our shop. These make it easier to combine suitable goggles, radio controller, batteries, charger, and accessories.

Choose this BNF drone if you already have compatible DJI O4 FPV equipment and a matching radio system.

Product Images and Variant Notice

Product images are for display and reference only. Some images may be generic manufacturer photos and may not show the exact antenna layout, receiver antenna length, battery mounting, GPS position, props, or small details of every available variant.

The final configuration depends on the selected receiver version, production batch, and product variant.

Choose the Correct Receiver Version

Please choose the receiver version that matches your radio controller.

Available receiver versions may include, depending on selected variant:

  • DJI FPV Remote Controller 2/3
  • TBS Crossfire Diversity Nano RX
  • iFlight ELRS True Diversity 2.4GHz RX
  • iFlight ELRS True Diversity 868/915MHz RX

The DJI O4 Air Unit Pro is responsible for video transmission. The selected receiver/control version determines how the drone receives control commands from your radio controller.

DJI Controller Version
Choose the DJI Controller version if you want to control the drone with DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 or DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.

This version is configured for DJI SBUS control. Additional SBUS and GND wiring is connected between the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro and the flight controller for the DJI remote-control input.

The DJI Controller version does not have additional receiver antennas. The control signal is transmitted through the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro system and its O4 antennas.

Important: The DJI Controller version is intended for use with a DJI remote controller. If you want to use ELRS or TBS Crossfire instead, a separate receiver must be installed and configured correctly. This may require disconnecting the DJI SBUS wiring or using another UART for receiver input.

ELRS True Diversity 2.4GHz Version
Choose this version if you use an ELRS 2.4GHz radio controller, for example an iFlight Commando 8 or Commando 14 ELRS 2.4GHz.

This version uses an ELRS True Diversity receiver with two shorter 2.4GHz receiver antennas.

ELRS True Diversity 868/915MHz Version
Choose this version only if your radio controller or external module supports ELRS 868/915MHz.

This version uses an ELRS True Diversity receiver with two longer 868/915MHz receiver antennas.

ELRS 2.4GHz and ELRS 868/915MHz are not compatible with each other.

TBS Crossfire Diversity Version
Choose this version if you use a TBS Crossfire radio or a compatible Crossfire module and want the Crossfire Diversity receiver variant.

Diversity Receiver Antenna Note

  • Diversity receiver versions always use two receiver antennas.
  • ELRS 868/915MHz Diversity versions use two longer receiver antennas.
  • ELRS 2.4GHz Diversity versions use two shorter receiver antennas.

This is normal and depends on the selected receiver frequency and receiver type. Product photos may not show every receiver antenna layout for every variant.

If you are not sure which version matches your radio controller, please contact us before ordering.

Battery Recommendations

This drone is designed for 6S batteries and long-range battery setups.

Standard LiPo recommendation:

6S 3300–3500mAh LiPo

This is the recommended starting range for a balanced mix of throttle response, manageable weight, stable handling, and practical flight time.

Larger LiPo options:

6S 4000–8000mAh LiPo can be used depending on the desired flight time and use case, but larger LiPo batteries increase takeoff weight and reduce agility.

Li-Ion / endurance cruising:

6S1P 5000mAh Li-Ion is the bare minimum Li-Ion option for this platform. It can be used for very smooth cruising only and can only be mounted with the rear battery strap due to its shorter pack size.

For 7-inch and 7.5-inch long-range platforms, we recommend 6S2P Li-Ion batteries for better throttle response and reduced voltage sag.

Recommended Li-Ion options:

6S2P 8000mAh Li-Ion for long-range endurance cruising

6S2P 10000mAh Li-Ion for maximum range and maximum endurance setups

Important Li-Ion Note:

Compared with 5-inch platforms, 7-inch and 7.5-inch drones draw more power and place higher load on the battery during climbs, wind correction, heavier payloads, and long-distance flights.

A 6S1P Li-Ion pack can experience more voltage sag and weaker throttle response on this size of drone. For this reason, 6S2P Li-Ion packs are strongly recommended when using Li-Ion on the Chimera7 Pro V2.

Li-Ion batteries are suitable for smooth cruising and endurance-oriented flying. They are not suitable for aggressive freestyle, racing, repeated hard punch-outs, or high-current flying.

Li-Ion batteries behave differently from LiPo batteries and may require adjusted Betaflight voltage warnings. Always configure warning and landing voltages according to the battery chemistry and pack used.

Important Long-Range Battery Note:

Large batteries can strongly change the handling of the drone. A heavier battery may increase cruising time but reduce agility, increase braking distance, increase motor load, and require more careful flight planning.

Always keep sufficient battery reserve for return flight, wind, altitude changes, and unexpected route changes.

Action Camera Support

The Chimera7 Pro V2 can carry a GoPro or similar action camera when a compatible mount is used.

Adding an action camera increases takeoff weight, changes flight behavior, increases current draw, and usually reduces flight time.

For many long-range flights, the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro onboard recording may already be sufficient, reducing the need for an additional action camera.

Setup Notes

The drone is delivered with a factory-installed Betaflight preset. Before the first flight, no firmware update, no reset, and no Betaflight changes are required.

BNF means the drone still needs to be bound to your compatible radio controller before flight.

Check all screws, motor direction, propeller orientation, receiver binding, failsafe behavior, OSD, GPS status, video link, and voltage warning settings before the first flight.

GPS Rescue is not enabled by default. It must be configured, checked, and tested by the pilot before use.

For long-range flying, always verify GPS satellite lock, home point behavior, receiver range, video link quality, battery reserve, wind direction, return route, and local flight restrictions before takeoff.

We strongly recommend not flashing firmware, not resetting Betaflight, and not applying random presets unless you have saved a backup and know exactly which target and configuration are required.

Important Note – GPS Rescue and Long-Range Flying

GPS Rescue is a Betaflight safety feature that may help the drone return toward the home point after correct configuration.

It is not a certified return-to-home system and must not be treated as a guarantee that the drone will return safely.

Incorrect GPS Rescue settings, insufficient satellites, wrong failsafe setup, low battery, strong wind, compass-free navigation limits, pilot error, terrain, or RF signal loss can still lead to crashes or loss of the drone.

Always test GPS Rescue carefully in a safe area before relying on it, and always keep enough battery reserve for the return flight.

FAQ

What does BNF mean?
BNF means Bind-and-Fly. The drone is assembled and factory configured, but it still needs to be bound to your compatible radio controller before flight.

Is this a complete Ready-to-Fly set?
No. This is only the BNF drone. Battery, charger, FPV goggles, radio controller, microSD card, and action camera are not included.

If you need a complete setup, please check our ReadyFly Kits or compatible accessory bundles.

Which receiver version should I choose?
Choose the version that matches your radio controller.

  • Use DJI Controller version for DJI FPV Remote Controller 2 or 3.
  • Use ELRS True Diversity 2.4GHz for suitable ELRS 2.4GHz radios such as iFlight Commando 8 or Commando 14 ELRS 2.4GHz.
  • Use ELRS True Diversity 868/915MHz only for suitable ELRS 868/915MHz radios or modules.
  • Use TBS Crossfire Diversity if you fly with Crossfire and want the Crossfire Diversity receiver version.

Why does my receiver antenna layout look different from the product photos?
Product photos are for display only and may not show every receiver version.

DJI Controller versions do not have separate receiver antennas because control is handled through the DJI O4 Air Unit Pro antennas. Diversity receiver versions always have two receiver antennas. ELRS 868/915MHz Diversity uses two longer antennas, while ELRS 2.4GHz Diversity uses two shorter antennas.

Is GPS included?
Yes. The Chimera7 Pro V2 O4 HD version includes pre-installed GPS.

Is GPS Rescue enabled by default?
No. GPS Rescue is not enabled by default. It must be configured, checked, and tested by the pilot before use.

Which battery should I use?
For standard LiPo use, we recommend 6S 3300–3500mAh LiPo as the balanced starting point. For maximum long-range cruising, we recommend 6S2P Li-Ion batteries such as 8000mAh or 10000mAh.

Can I use a 6S1P 5000mAh Li-Ion battery?
Yes, but it is the bare minimum Li-Ion option for the Chimera7 Pro V2 and is recommended only for very smooth cruising.

Because the 5000mAh 6S1P pack is shorter, it can only be mounted with the rear battery strap. For better throttle response and less voltage sag on this 7.5-inch platform, we recommend 6S2P Li-Ion options such as 8000mAh or 10000mAh for maximum range.

Can I use LiPo batteries?
Yes. LiPo batteries are recommended for better throttle response and more dynamic flying. The standard recommendation is 6S 3300–3500mAh LiPo.

Can I use Li-Ion batteries?
Yes. Li-Ion batteries are suitable for smooth long-range cruising and endurance-oriented flying. For this 7.5-inch platform, 6S2P Li-Ion packs are recommended to reduce voltage sag and improve throttle response compared with smaller 6S1P packs.

Can I use a GoPro or action camera?
Yes. The frame can carry a GoPro or similar action camera with a compatible mount. Additional payload increases weight and usually reduces flight time.

Is this drone suitable for beginners?
No. This is a large 7.5-inch long-range FPV drone and is recommended for experienced pilots who understand GPS, failsafe setup, battery management, radio range, and local flight rules.

Can I fly in rain or wet conditions?
No. Do not fly in rain, snow, wet grass, fog, or high humidity. Damage caused by water or moisture is not considered a normal manufacturing defect.
