What parts do I need when building my own FPV drone from a frame kit?

When you buy a carbon frame kit from us, you’ll still need to select a compatible flight stack (flight controller + ESC), motors, propellers, batteries and charger to complete the build and ensure everything works together reliably. Optional protective 3D-printed parts and spare components.

2

How do I choose a suitable frame kit and size for my DIY FPV build?

Start with the frame size and style based on your flying goals, for example our carbon 5-inch frames are great for freestyle, 7-inch for long-range cruising and heavier packs, and ensure the kit supports the mounting pattern of the electronics you plan to use.

3

How do I ensure all the electric components are compatible with the frame and each other?

You must check that the frame has the correct mounting pattern for the flight-controller & ESC stack, that the motor size and KV rating suit your propellers and battery voltage and that the battery size fits the frame and your flying style.

What should I know about tools, spare parts and maintenance when building and flying a DIY FPV drone?

Building your own drone means you will need more than just parts, you’ll need a soldering iron, hex drivers, multimeter, zip-ties, replacement propellers and arms (crashes will happen), and regular inspection of screws, wiring and motor mounts to keep your custom build safe and performing well.
